Todd: “Just a Devastating Time to be a Republican in Virginia”

Today, NBC political guru Chuck Todd gave his insights as to what to look for in each and every state on election night. In many cases, he says that the Republican’s problems on the state level stem from what’s going on nationally. But that’s not always the case. Ohio, Todd says, may go to McCain due to the Ohio GOPs superior organization compared to the state Democratic Party. As for Virginia? Not so much.

This state and the Republican Party are just not in sync. I’m convinced if the state GOP were in better shape, McCain would be in better shape. But because the state party is such a mess, McCain’s in trouble. Mark Warner is coasting to an easy senate victory and the GOP could lose one to three House seats. Just a devastating time to be a Republican in Virginia.

  1. With the mounting bad news for their campaign, McCain/Palin will have no choice but to go increasingly negative in their attacks. Anybody else see this leaked 527 spot?
