UPDATE: WaPo has a story posted about anti-Obama and anti-McCain vandalism. Either kind is deplorable.
On Thursday evening, an Obama supporting family in the Partlow section of Spotsylvania County allowed the Spotsy Democratic Committee to place this 4×8 foot Obama-Biden on their property.
Not surprising, it didn’t take long for the sign to be vandalized. But in both content and magnitude, the multiple acts of vandalism done to this family’s sign are truly sickening.
Spotsy Dems Co-Chair Opal Stroup picks up the story:
Within 24 hours, the sign was defaced with KKK spray painted on each side. A Sheriff’s Deputy responded and took a video.
Chair Stroup, continues:
Last evening, between about 7:30 pm and 8:45 p.m., vandals threw food at the already vandalized sign, then took a large chunk from its corner.
This morning the sign had been completely ripped from the supporting posts.
The Spotsylvania County Sheriff asks the public to provide the Department any information that could help identify the vandal or vandals.
For all the progress this part of Virginia has made in the 41 years since the U.S. Supreme Court handed down its decision re: Loving v. Virginia, we here in Fred2Blue Land still suffer the stings of abject racism.
What was done to this family is deplorable. If we are not outraged, we are not paying attention.
Dammit, PAY ATTENTION!
And welcome to Partlow.

This is important.
The KKK said they would attend the Ole Miss event last month, too.
Instead of disavowing this infamous hate group, John McCain, before and since, has attacked Civil Rights hero John Lewis.
Don’t kid yourself. This is a threat.
Stay safe, Barack.

I don’t suppose you’d care to comment on the “Palin Hangs from House in Noose” story, would you?
There are nuts on all sides. Paint it any way you want, I guess.

BTW, the previous comment was not intended to condone vandalism of any sort. Those people are dirt bags.
The guy who hangs Palin in effigy is protected by his right to private property and free speech, but I can’t help but imagine the reaction on F2B if a similar display of Biden or Obama turned up around here on a McCain supporter’s lawn.
I am as offended by the anti-McCain stuff (Palin hanging in effigy) and I am the anti-Obama stuff (the defaced signs and worse). There’s no place for any of it.
