Congratulations to Supervisor George Schwartz (D-Falmouth District) , who today was elected Chairman of the Stafford County Board of Supervisors. Supervisor Joe Brito (I-Hartwood District), who often votes with the Dems, was elected Vice-Chairman.
Congratulations to you too, Joe!
The November elections flipped the Stafford BOS to Democratic Party control. Along with Chairman Schwartz and Vice-Chairman Brito, the new Board also includes Supervisor Harry Crisp II (D- George Washington District), Supervisor Bob Woodson (D-Griffis-Widewater District), Supervisor Mark Dudenhefer (R-Garrisonville District), Supervisor Cord Sterling (R-Rock Hill District), and Supervisor Paul Milde (R-Aquia District).
We wish Chairman Schwartz well, especially given the fact that during 2008, he and his majority will be working hard to enact a fair and equitable Business Professional Occupational License (BPOL). The Republicans have already started a campaign - aimed at the local business community – to discredit the BPOL, even though it would help keep homeowners’ taxes in check and its actual affect on small business would be negligible.

Life is good.
Plus….I live in Falmouth.
Congratulations to George and to Joe. Sounds like the new minority isn’t happy about the situation. Well, elections have consequences.
